How I work
Sessions
I provide both individual and couples sessions. I start our work together by offering weekly 50-minute psychotherapy appointments consistently. Together we can assess if you need to meet more frequently or if you can come in less often. I recommend attending at least seven weekly therapy sessions before attending therapy less regularly.
Rates
I believe therapy should be as accessible as possible, so I offer a sliding scale for reduced-fee clients based on financial needs and a student rate. If I cannot provide a fee you can afford, I will direct you to other sliding scale providers in my area.
Fees
Individuals 50 minutes: $185
Couples 50 Minutes: $185
Please contact me for sliding scale rates.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of your session. At this time, I accept only credit cards and cash. While I do not bill insurance directly, I can provide you with a detailed invoice (superbill) which you can get reimbursed by your insurance carrier or spending accounts (HSA or FSA) supplied by your employer. For insurance reimbursement, amounts can vary, I recommend you call your insurance company to check how much of your fee will be reimbursed.
Good Faith Estimate
Effective January 1, 2022, the No Surprises Act (NSA) protects you from surprise billing. Due to the NSA, if you are not receiving reimbursement from insurance, you are entitled to receive this “Good Faith Estimate” of what the charges could be for psychotherapy services provided to you. While it is not possible for a psychotherapist to know in advance how many psychotherapy sessions may be necessary or appropriate for a given person, this form provides an estimate of the cost of services offered. Your total cost of services will depend upon the number of psychotherapy sessions you attend, your individual circumstances, and the type and amount of services that are provided to you.
Cancellation Policy
I understand that sometimes things come up, and you may need to cancel our session. Once we decide on a time to meet every week, I will reserve that time weekly for you. To ensure I can reserve the time, I need to have a 48-hours notice window if you need to cancel your therapy appointment. The notice allows me to fill the session if you cannot come. If you cancel outside the window, you will be charged the full fee for your session.

Everything you say in therapy is confidential, with a few notable exceptions. Therapy is designed to be a safe relationship where the therapist keeps everything you want to say private. To protect the client, there are a few exceptions to confidentiality.

Serious intent to harm children or elders
A judge has subpoenaed me to release my records to a court of law.
You have been gravely disabled, a condition where you cannot provide for your basic needs, such as food, clothing, or shelter, due to a change in your mental health during our work together.
Do you assign homework or reading between sessions?
As we get to know one another, I find that homework or recommendations for reading arise organically. I like to say that therapy homework is always optional! However, if you would like more structured assignments between sessions, let me know, and we can integrate them into our work together.
